Process & Technology
Water can have a wide variety of impurities. An off-the-peg solution is therefore only the second best choice. Depending on the type and level of load, we develop individual systems with which your wastewater reliably meets all required limit values. Due to our many years of project experience, we also master complex tasks.
Neutralization
Reaction of acid and alkali to form salt and water. Many commercial and industrial wastewater must be neutralized prior to discharge into public sewage systems or receiving waters. Acid wastewater is neutralized with lye, alkaline wastewater with acid.
Biological procedures
By means of bacteria, dissolved and finely dispersed organic components are degraded in various treatment steps to form inorganic products. Basically, biological wastewater treatment is differentiated into aerobic and anaerobic processes.
Sedimentation
Sedimentation uses the sinking behavior of flocs due to gravity. The flakes produced in a preceding treatment step sediment in the sediment container to the ground. From here, the settled sludge is fed to further treatment steps or withdrawn from the system for disposal.
Counterflow lamella clarifier
For all wastewater that can be clarified by means of sedimentation, the counterflow lamella clarifier is the first choice. The use of a high number of fins enormously increases the sedimentation area in the smallest of spaces. This means a space-saving and cost-effective wastewater treatment with particularly high efficiency. Lamellar clarifiers are used in almost all areas of water treatment.
Filtration
Filtration refers to the retention of particles from a gas or liquid with a filter medium. A distinction is made between surface filtration and depth filtration. For water and wastewater treatment, both filtration methods are used.
Flotation
In a flotation tank wastewater is introduced with undissolved or insoluble constituents. Air is supplied to the waste water by means of lances or high-speed stirrers. The dispersed particles bind to the air bubbles and are transported to the surface.
Pressure relaxation flotation
Pressure Relief Flotation is a process for removing fine suspended solids, oils and fats from water and wastewater streams. Here, a gas is dissolved under pressure in the water to be clarified. The gas which bubbles out again during pressure reduction adheres to the suspended particles and floats them to the surface. The materials already used include steel with a suitable coating, stainless steel and polypropylene.
Ultrafiltration
Ultrafiltration is a filtration process in which the finest particles can be separated from a prefiltered water stream. The wastewater is pumped by pressure pumps through high-pressure pumps. In the pressure tubes diaphragm, in various embodiments, arranged. The size of the membrane can be made such that the specific particles to be filtered off can no longer pass through it (e.g., 0.1 μm).
reverse osmosis
Reverse osmosis is a process used to concentrate and retain dissolved ingredients in liquids. The natural osmotic process is reversed with the help of high pressures of up to 30 bar (in the range of desalination of seawater up to 80 bar). The reverse osmosis filter module is designed to allow only the filtrate to penetrate the membrane and retain the dissolved ingredients, the retentate.
ion exchanger
Ion exchangers are used in demineralisation to exchange cations and anions dissolved in water for H + and OH- ions. When softened, Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ ions are i.d.R. exchanged for Na + ions.
sludge dewatering
In a treatment plant, the conversion of dissolved waste water constituents into a solid form and their sedimentation produces a sludge that, from an economic point of view, has to be further dewatered.
